CTTC is leading the UNITY-6G EU-funded project, launched early this year. UNITY-6G is a pioneer initiative for the development of a sustainable, scalable, intelligent and integrated 6G communication network infrastructure that integrates artificial intelligence, distributed ledger technology, semantic communication and digital network twinning.
UNITY-6G gathers the effort of 20 European partners from 11 different countries, aiming to develop a scalable AI-native network architecture that not only improves network efficiency and responsiveness, but also focuses on environmental sustainability by incorporating renewable energy sources and advanced management techniques. The architecture is designed to support diverse and stringent network requirements in integrated non-terrestrial and terrestrial networks, non-public networks, Open RAN and edge/cloud systems, evolving into a real-time, state-aware network that integrates decentralized applications to meet stringent timing requirements.
Dr. Engin Zeydan, UNITY-6G project coordinator, will be available at CTTC booth next 3rd March from 15:00-16:00 to present project objectives and challenges.
