This seminar introduces aspects related to the security offered by quantum technologies in the field of telecommunication networks and systems. Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya’s (CTTC) researcher Michela Svaluto Moreolo will present the use of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems to obtain more secure communications in fiber optic networks. In particular, solutions will be presented based on this technology and its use in telecommunication systems. The seminar will also illustrate some examples of the technology that is being developed within the UNICO5G research program in collaboration with the business and industrial ecosystem in optical communications.
The seminar will be imparted by Dr. Michela Svaluto Moreolo, CTTC researcher at Packet Optical Networks and Services Research Unit.
Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to visit the facilities of the company Luxquanta, a startup present on campus (PMT) that is developing quantum key distribution (QKD) technology.
The seminar will be held in person at CTTC, but also will be able to be followed live remotely. The link will be distributed among the registred users.
