CTTC to host the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking’s Steering Board (SB) and the Technology Board (TB) meetings

Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) is hosting the upcoming meeting of the Steering Board (SB) and the Technology Board (BS) of the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS-JU). This two-day event will take place on October 9-10, 2024 at CTTC’s premises in Castelldefels (Barcelona).

The SB and TB are responsible for the cooperation across the projects funded under the umbrella of the SNS JU, and related Working Groups. Their goal is to steer the joint undertaking towards achieving its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda and roadmap, ensure alignment and complementarities with other relevant initiatives, and to guarantee that the overall objectives are achieved through appropriate R&I activities. As of today, the SNS JU portfolio comprises a total of 62 R&I projects. 

CTTC plays a key role in the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking. Our institution it is both a Governing Board member of the SNS JU, the decision-making body of the Joint Undertaking, and of the 6G Industry Association (6G-IA), the private side of this public-private partnership.

The European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking is a Public-Private Partnership that aims to facilitate and develop industrial leadership in Europe in 5G and 6G networks and services. The SNS JU funds projects that shape a solid research and innovation (R&I) roadmap and deployment agenda by engaging a critical mass of European stakeholders and facilitating international cooperation on various 6G initiatives. The SNS JU has two main missions: fostering Europe’s technology sovereignty in 6G by implementing the related research and innovation (R&I) programme leading to the conception and standardisation around 2025 and boosting 5G deployment in Europe in view of developing digital lead markets and enabling the digital and green transition of the economy and society
