Members of CTTC’s Geomatics Research Unit, M. Eulàlia Parés and Eduard Angelats, have been recognized by the SEPE Foundation with the Jack Bono Award for Engineering Communication for their contribution to the article “Use of Unmanned Aerial Systems in Outdoor Firefighting”.
The focus of this paper, written by a group of several international researchers, is to discuss the challenges that are currently faced in using Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and highlight the hurdles that need to be overcome by the community to support broader and more frequent use of UAS in the field.
The Jack Bono Award for Engineering Communications is endowed by UL Research Institutes and each year recognizes authors who have most contributed to the advancement and application of professional fire protection engineering.
