The Catalan government grants the awards Narcís Monturiol, which recognize the scientific and technological excellence of researchers from the Catalan research and scientific system. Among the 10 awardees is Prof. Ana I. Pérez-Neira, Director of CTTC for her research in the field of signal processing for communications and multi-antenna signals.
These awards (established in 1982) distinguish people and entities for their outstanding contribution to the development of science and Technology in Catalonia, by honoring the Catalan inventor and politician from the XIX century, Narcís Monturiol Estarriol (1819-1855).
