CTTC leads the national UNICO 5G I+D 6G-OPENSEC-KEYS project on flexible and efficient software-controllable quantum key distribution (QKD) to ensure security in 6G networks.
In close collaboration with Telefonica and LuxQuanta, CTTC is promoting a sustainable integration of QKD technology in the network infrastructure, facilitating the coexistence with conventional optical communications in synergy with software defined networking (SDN). This will pave the way to address crucial challenges of future 6G networks, enabling secure and sustainable connectivity. CTTC also contributes advances towards future secure networks working on the coexistence of QKD technology and optical communications in the framework of the Horizon EU ALLEGRO project.
