Mehdi Dabirnia

Mehdi Dabirnia received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees both in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran, in 2007 and 2010, respectively. From 2013 to 2017 he was working as a Research Assistant in Communication Theory and Applications Research Lab, Bilkent University and obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Tolga M. Duman. His Ph.D. research was focused on the design and analysis of capacity approaching coding solutions for energy harvesting and multiuser communications.
He was a post-doctoral researcher at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, with Information Theory and Coding (ITC) group headed by Albert Guillén i Fàbregas from 2018 to 2023. His research interests include various topics in communication theory, information theory and coding theory.
Dr. Dabirnia received the best presentation award for the 2016 graduate research conference (GRC) from Bilkent University. He was awarded a doctoral research scholarship from Bilkent University, Turkey. He is a member of IEEE. He is a frequent reviewer of IEEE journals and conferences.
