Laia Nadal Reixats obtained her MSc Telecommunication Engineering degree from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria de Telecomunicació de Barcelona (ETSETB) of the University of Catalonia (UPC) in July 2010. In April 2012, she obtained the European Master of Research on Information and communication Technologies (MERIT) from the Signal Theory and Communications (TSC) department of the UPC. She performed her PhD in the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC). Specifically, from May to August 2013 she was a Visiting Ph.D. Scholar in ADVA Optical Networking (Germany). In November 2014, she received her PhD degree (Cum Laude) from the TSC department of the UPC. From February 2015 to February 2017 she has held a Postdoctoral position at CTTC. Currently is a Senior Researcher of the Communication Networks Division at CTTC.
Her research interests include signal processing and advanced modulation formats for optical communication systems and high-capacity optical networks. Moreover, she has experience in the characterization of components, in measurement methods, experimental configurations implementation and programming interfaces of different lab instruments.
Participation in European and Spanish national projects
She has been involved in several European and Spanish national R&D proposal preparation and project execution, such as FP7 STRAUSS (G.A. 608528), FP7 IDEALIST (G. A. 317999), FARO (TEC2012-38119) and DESTELLO (TEC2015-69256-R). She has also participated in the thematic network PIC4TB (113553).
In the present, she is involved in EU H2020 BLUESPACE (G.A. 762055), in EU H2020 PASSION (G.A. 780326), in AURORAS (RTI2018-099178-B-I00), where she is leading a task, in ONFIRE H2020-MSCA-ITN-2017 (765275), where she is leading a technical WP and in H2020-ICT-2016-2 METRO-HAUL (G.A. 761727), where she is in charge of CTTC activities on transmission and subsystems.
